Wonderful Village: Integrating Nature into Architecture

Creating a Healthy Living Environment with Greenery, Sunlight, Air, and Water

Located in Chiayi, Taiwan, the Wonderful Village designed by Qing Jing Lin Co., Ltd is a residential project that prioritizes the integration of nature into architecture. By focusing on four main elements - greenery, sunlight, air, and water - the designer has created a healthy living environment that promotes relaxation and tranquility.

The architecture of Wonderful Village is strategically planned to maximize the benefits of its location near the Chiayi HSR station. The building line is set back, creating four independent buildings with gardens and squares in between. This design not only provides privacy for the residents but also allows for ample sunlight and fresh air to flow through the spaces.

The concept behind the design is inspired by the agricultural heritage of Chiayi. The building lot is shaped like a four-square field, symbolizing the importance of land in Chinese culture. Additionally, the facades of the buildings feature rice spike emblems, further emphasizing the connection to the land and the city's agricultural roots. This integration of tradition and novelty brings a unique architectural style to Chiayi.

With a total area of 16,407 square meters, Wonderful Village offers a high-rise space with smooth lines and various lighting techniques. The public areas are designed with multiple transitions, creating an elegant and inviting atmosphere. The use of wooden materials for flooring and walls, along with contrasting textures of stone and ceramic, adds depth and visual interest to the interiors. The lobby, reception, and dining areas are adorned with luxurious chandeliers, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance for guests and residents.

One of the key features of Wonderful Village is its commitment to sustainability. The design incorporates a lower building coverage ratio, allowing for more greenery, gardens, and squares within the community. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also promotes better air circulation and natural lighting. Solar panels are installed on the rooftops, harnessing Chiayi's abundant sunlight to generate electricity for public use, contributing to energy savings.

Designing Wonderful Village came with its fair share of challenges. Located in the heart of the HSR zone, the project aimed to combine the traditional impressions of Chiayi's rice fields with a new architectural vision. The result is a design that symbolizes the city's agricultural transformation and serves as a landmark for future developments.

The Wonderful Village design has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award honors designs that showcase technical and creative skills while contributing to improvements in quality of life.

As Wonderful Village nears completion in December 2024, it stands as a testament to the successful integration of nature and architecture. With its emphasis on greenery, sunlight, air, and water, this residential project offers a unique and healthy living environment for the residents of Chiayi.
